Experiences of dental services in Newcastle

Report - 1 April 2022

Healthwatch teams across the North East region saw a significant increase in concerns about accessing NHS dental care during 2021. Eight local Healthwatch worked together to gather people’s experiences in the region. We published a report outlining our collective survey findings from March 2020 to January 2022.

Healthwatch Newcastle also published a report on the findings for people living in and accessing dental care in Newcastle from March 2020 to December 2021. Although we found that most respondents had a positive experience of dental treatment in the city, it was evident that dental practices were, and continue to be, under pressure due to backlogs caused by the COVID-19 pandemic.
